So back in November of 2020, I put out a call for individuals from the BIPOC community (I know a lot of people don’t care for this term, but that’s not why we’re here) to submit pieces for what I originally conceptualized to be an open source anthology to discuss issues of Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. I will admit that I was underwhelmed by the submissions. I had a few people who considered it, but not many participated and that is okay. I will market better next time. You win some, you lose some, and then you pivot.
As part of our mission here at fruitful.poetic.light, LLC we always seek to amplify the voices of people of color. We help underrepresented populations publish their stories. So today, I would like to announce our first ongoing Blog Series entitled Finding My Voice: Untold Stories by People of Color Working Among the White Majority launching this Spring. It will feature writing and art from various people of the BIPOC community that focuses on their life as a person of color operating in a traditionally white centered world. I can’t what to share these pieces with you.
