Hey everyone! Welcome to the month of August! We are now in full swing with the second half of the year. This month is considered “new beginnings” in biblical terms. That is such a fitting title for this announcement. It’s official, on Monday I will be a published author! Talk about a dream come true for this young adult girl from East St. Louis who has loved books and reading her entire life. This was definitely an item checked off my bucket list.

Another equally exciting celebration is that this month marks the 1 year anniversary of fruitful.poetic.light! Clearly, August and I got a thing going on. To have two amazing things happening in my life at the same time is such a blessing. God knows what He’s doing. I have grown so much in a year just trying to figure out how to run a business and trust God. I doubted myself several times since starting, but we’re still here and growing. Thank you Jesus!

If you follow us on social media, you know that I have been preparing for my book to launch for a while now. It was originally planned for June, but I was on hiatus. I needed to reset my life and I did. I’m a firm believer that things happen when they are supposed to happen. So this book is launching at its appointed time.

Confessions of a Young Adult’s Life was a labor of love and healing. I always knew that I would write a book one day, and I stopped writing it so many times because it reached a place of vulnerability within me that I didn’t think I had the courage to share. On the other hand, that is exactly how I knew that I should do it. I needed freedom. Writing my story and sharing it with the world is how I found it. I acknowledged, I cried, I got angry, and I laughed. With all of these things happening, I still completed the mission.

As humans, we feel a lot and we deal with a lot, but complete the mission. We can no longer allow unhealthy fear to narrate our lives. It is natural to be afraid to do something, but you cannot allow that to be an “enemy of progress” (shout out to Luuvie!). So yes, I did it afraid and I’m so glad I did.

In honor of the 1 year anniversary of fruitful.poetic.light, I’m launching my book “Confessions of a Young Adult’s Life” this Monday, August 10th. The ebook is currently available for pre-order and the paperback will be available on Monday. Click the link HERE to pre-order!

Love yal and thanks for being here!
